Girl Scouts of the USA is 2.5 million strong—more than 1.7 million girls and 750,000 adults who believe in the power of every G.I.R.L. (Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-taker, Leader)™ to change the world. GSUSA is the preeminent leadership development organization for girls. And with programs from coast to coast and across the globe, Girl Scouts offers every girl a chance to practice a lifetime of leadership, adventure, and success.
The Girl Scouts of Southeastern Michigan (GSSEM) is chartered by Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) to be the local provider of premier leadership experiences for girls. GSSEM serves over 24,000 girls and 8,000 volunteers in Oakland, Macomb, Genesee, Lapeer, St. Clair, Sanilac and parts of Wayne, Monroe and Livingston Counties. The girls join us as young as five years of age and may stay through high school. Their entire time as Girl Scouts is filled with experiences that allow them to Discover + Connect + Take Action – the 3 keys to leadership. The dedicated staff and program offerings make GSSEM the organization of choice for girls and their families, and for caring adults, who are committed to the Girl Scout Mission. GSSEM Girl Scouts are given an unmatched variety of girl-led, girl-fueled experiences supported by volunteers and staff throughout the council area.
