Caterpillar Foundation

Overview: The Caterpillar Foundation funds organizations that alleviate the root causes of poverty, and in 2016, began funding a number of new initiatives aimed at women and girls under its Together.Stronger strategy. In November of 2016, Caterpillar announced its support of the United Nation's Girl Up Campaign and International Day of the Girl. In 2016, Foundation President Michele Sullivan helped launch a global conversation on girls' education, which included girl participants from Washington, D.C., Peru, Tanzania, and the United Kingdom. Also in 2016, Caterpillar launched She Is, which shares stories of women empowered through energy access and highlights Caterpillar’s philanthropy in providing power to St. Luke's Hospital in Haiti.
