The Schlumberger Foundation: Faculty for the Future Fellowships
Overview: Started by the Schlumberger Foundation in 2004, the Faculty for the Future program offers grants of up to US $50,000 per year for women from developing and emerging countries pursuing PhD and Post-doctoral research. The goal of the program is to lower the barriers between women in underserved countries and education/careers in STEM. These grants are based on the actual cost of a program of study (up to $50,000 for PhD programs and up to $40,000 for Post-doctoral research programs), and can be renewed annually for the entire course of study.
From the website: "Since its launch in 2004, 721 women from 80 developing and emerging countries have received Faculty for the Future fellowships to pursue PhD and Post-Doctorate study in STEM. The program also helps build a community for the Fellows through Forums, both online and in person."
