WANTO Grant Program

Overview: The WANTO (Women in Apprenticeship and Nontraditional Occupations) grant program is an initiative through the Women's Bureau of the U.S. Department of Labor. It is intended to help expand pathways for women to enter and lead in all industries. WANTO awarded $4,100,000 in grants in 2020. Funding areas: Community based organizations helping to recruit, train, and retain women in apprenticeships and non-traditional occupations. Funded organizations included Apprenticeship and Nontraditional Employment for Women and Chicago Women in Trades.
