Roddenberry Foundation

Overview: The Roddenberry Foundation’s inaugural prize focused partially on women and girls, and one of the winners of the prize in 2018 was Vote, Run, Lead. In addition, Roddenberry also provides fellowships in women’s rights. The foundation's general approach to philanthropy consists of three grants programs. The Catalyst Fund is used to make small grants to innovative programs aiming for change. The Roddenberry Fellowship is an annual grant of $1 million split equally between 20 activists working for civil rights, gender equality, environmental protection, or immigration and refugee rights. The Roddenberry Prize is a biennial competition for a grant of $1 million to one organization working in the reduction of food waste, support of plant-rich diets, improving education for girls, and advocacy of women's rights. Funding Area: Women and girls, LGBTQ+ rights, environmental justice, civil rights, and immigration and refugee rights. Contact: roddenberryfoundation.org/contact-
