Enabling women-led small businesses to benefit better from the opportunities brought by Olympics
BEIJING, Dec. 2, 2019 /PRNewswire/ –Visa (NYSE: V) today joined the China Women’s Development Foundation (CWDF) and Beijing Sport University (BSU) to announce the launch of “Olympics and Women” program. Leveraging the Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022, the program aims to empower women to grow their small businesses and contribute to local social-economic development and sustainable growth.
Accelerating the growth of Olympic related industries, the Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022 is an opportunity for local small businesses in China, especially in and near the major event zones including Zhangjiakou of Hebei Province and Yanqing District of Beijing City. The program is designed to support and champion women business owners as they build, sustain and advance their businesses over the next four years.
With a focus on sports, tourism and cultural sectors, the program aims to enhance business management, strategic planning and efficiency through capacity building as well as practical training in marketing, business operations and financial services. The program will also provide a knowledge sharing and networking platform for women to connect and learn from each other. The goal is to cover more than 5,000 women-led small businesses by 2022.
