ABOUT WOMEN: Enter our Art Contest by August 5!

“You don’t exist if you’re not represented… I felt a need to claim my own social existence by making the representation happen.” – Njideka Akunyili Crosby

As women, as people, and as philanthropists, what does womanhood mean to you? In ABOUT WOMEN, Philanthropy Women‘s first art contest, we seek to answer that question through the lens of the artist: finding what womanhood means in our worlds and the worlds around us.

Introducing ABOUT WOMEN: A Contest to Celebrate Women’s Art

Join us for the first Philanthropy Women art contest, designed to shine a light on women and LGBT+ artists. Enter today for your chance to win a cash prize and a six-month feature on Philanthropy Women!

Hosted through Fine Art America, this contest is open to artists identifying as women or members of the LGBT+ community, and pieces can be submitted in any medium.

To enter the women’s art contest, visit our contest website here. We welcome one submission per artist — choose your favorite visual medium, from painting to photography and everything in between. Upload your high-res image for free and be ready to vote when submissions close on August 5th.

How do I vote for my favorites?

When the submission window has closed, voting begins! The voting rules are as follows:

  1. Votes may be cast by any visitor to FineArtAmerica.com (you do not need to create an account to vote).
  2. You may only vote once per image.
  3. You may vote for a total of 3 different images… but again, only once for any given image.

Share your entries on social media to drum up as many votes as possible. At 10:00 on Wednesday, August 12th, voting closes — and we’ll announce our winners!

What are the prizes?

After the voting closes on August 12, we’ll announce three winners:

  • First Place receives $100
  • Second Place receives $50
  • Third Place receives $25

In addition to the grand prizes, all winners of the women’s art contest will receive a six-month feature of their winning piece on the Philanthropy Women homepage!

Join us to celebrate women’s art and the community we’ve built at Philanthropy Women. We can’t wait to see your entries! Here are the entries submitted so far.
